BLUFFTON, S.C. — The Bluffton indoor golf spot X-Golf Hilton Head is marking a fresh start under new ownership, with a free grand reopening open to the public starting at noon on Friday, Oct. 23.
X-Golf America, the national chain behind the brand, bought the store from the franchisee who had run it and now operates it as a corporate location. The venue sits at 1414 Fording Island Road in Tanger Outlets 2 on the Bluffton side of the bridge.
The new owner says the change brings a round of upgrades. Each simulator now runs new software with crisper graphics and more courses to choose from, plus an automatic tee and ball return so groups are not waiting between swings. The kitchen has a reworked menu of shareable food next to a full bar, and pool tables, darts, shuffleboard and a lounge round out the space. Company leaders described the purchase as an investment in the Hilton Head area market.
Bays are rented by the hour rather than per person, and a single simulator can hold as many as six players. Lessons with PGA-certified instructors are offered, and the venue books birthday parties and company outings.
Competitive players also get a new outlet. An eight-week X-League fall season of three-player teams is starting this month, with one nine-hole round a week on courses in the United States, scored as individual net stroke play. During the reopening, the venue plans hourly closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contests, each paying a $100 gift card.
Reservations can be made online or by phone at 843-548-8164.
