Apple Raises $7.5 Billion in Seven-Part Bond Sale

Published November 6, 2026 at 6:29 am | By Merger Monday, Staff Reporter

MERGER MONDAY story card

Apple Inc. raised $7.5 billion in a seven-part investment-grade bond sale, drawing roughly $31 billion of investor orders and pricing its longest tranche tighter than recent deals from other large technology and financial issuers.

The Cupertino, Calif., company sold $500 million of floating-rate notes due 2028 at the Secured Overnight Financing Rate plus 22 basis points and $750 million of floaters due 2029 at SOFR plus 33 basis points. Fixed-rate tranches were $1 billion due 2028 at 4.65%, $1 billion due 2029 at 4.75%, $1 billion due 2031 at 4.90%, $1.25 billion due 2033 at 5.10% and $2 billion due 2036 at 5.35%.

Tight spreads, big book

The 2036 notes priced about 55 basis points over comparable Treasuries, inside the spreads paid in recent offerings by Morgan Stanley, Meta Platforms and Oracle. Demand of about four times the deal size let Apple tighten pricing from initial guidance.

Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan led the transaction. Apple said proceeds will go to general corporate purposes, including share repurchases. It last sold bonds in May 2025, raising $4.5 billion.

Tech still welcome in IG

Large technology issuers have returned to the dollar market after a busy stretch of Meta dollar and euro sales. Apple’s credit remains a benchmark for the sector, and the oversubscription shows investors are still willing to lock in long-dated paper from cash-rich companies even as the Treasury curve shifts.

For Apple, bond markets remain a cheaper way to fund buybacks than drawing down its cash pile overseas after tax. The seven-tranche structure lets it fill several points on its maturity ladder in one outing.
