The Beaufort store is an endcap, no-drive-thru prototype, a newer format the Wichita, Kansas, brand is using to fit more kinds of real estate. It seats 65 guests and adds an outdoor patio.
The restaurant is owned and operated by long-time Freddy’s franchisee Charleston Custard. It is only the fourth Freddy’s in South Carolina, joining two locations in Summerville and one in Conway.
The chain, founded in Wichita in 2002, serves cooked-to-order steakburgers, hot dogs, shoestring fries and frozen custard.
