HILTON HEAD, S.C. — Hilton Head Christian Academy fell 30-6 to Bethesda Academy in Week 8 high school football on Friday as Lowcountry private-school teams finished games ahead of weekend storm weather.
Nearby results included Beaufort Academy 20, Holly Hill Academy 6 and Colleton Prep Academy 46, Patrick Henry Academy 28 on the same Friday night private-school slate.
Area schedules shifted earlier in the week, with a handful of coastal Georgia and Lowcountry games moved to Thursday to get ahead of Hurricane Isaias remnants that brought rainy conditions into Week 8.
Hilton Head Christian Academy could not slow Bethesda Academy after the opening exchanges, and the 30-6 result closed another nonconference date for the Eagles.
Other Friday outcomes from the region included Dorchester Academy 48, Thomas Heyward Academy 13 and a Palmetto Christian Academy win elsewhere on the South Carolina board.
Week 8 games across South Carolina continued late Friday as region races tightened and teams played through wet conditions tied to the remnant rain.
