HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — First place in Region 6-4A is on the line for Hilton Head on Friday, Oct. 16, when the 6-1 home team welcomes Beaufort County rival May River to Hilton Head Island.
Hilton Head comes in unbeaten in league play at 2-0. May River stands 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the region, and the visitors need a rebound after Lucy Beckham shut them out 47-0 one week ago.

The two programs have a short but growing history. Since 2021 the schools have played three times, and Friday adds a fourth meeting to that record.
The rest of the region is busy as well. Colleton County travels to Bluffton, and Lucy Beckham visits Beaufort, so a Hilton Head win would keep it ahead of the pack heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
