The Clemson women’s soccer team achieved a 1-0 road victory against Arkansas on Thursday, August 27, at Razorback Field. The win was propelled by graduate goalkeeper Nona Reason’s penalty kick save and freshman Ella Bach’s game-winning goal.
This result marks Clemson’s fourth clean sheet in five games, improving their season record to 2-1-2. Arkansas’s record now stands at 0-3-1. Head Coach Eddie Radwanski highlighted the team’s disciplined play and praised Reason’s crucial save, which shifted the game’s momentum. He also noted the collaborative effort of freshmen Reagan Thompson and Ella Bach for the decisive goal.
Reason concluded the match with three saves, bringing her season total to 13 across five games. Bach’s goal in the 69th minute was her second of the 2026 campaign, making her the first Tiger to achieve multiple goals this year. Clemson recorded nine shots in total, with three on target.
In the first half, Clemson’s defense was prominent, taking only two shots compared to Arkansas’s five. Reason made an early stop at 1:59 from Vailana Tu’ua and followed with back-to-back saves against Madden McDonald and Molly Teed just before halftime, keeping the score at 0-0.
The Tigers increased their offensive pressure in the second half, led by junior midfielder Anna Castenfelt, who had three shots, and senior Dani Davis, whose shot was saved. A critical moment occurred in the 62nd minute when Clemson was called for a handball in the penalty box. Reason’s diving save to her left prevented Arkansas from scoring, maintaining the scoreless tie and turning the game’s momentum in Clemson’s favor.
Seven minutes later, Clemson broke the tie. Freshman Reagan Thompson maneuvered past a defender and passed to Bach inside the six-yard box, who then scored. Arkansas attempted two more shots, but neither was successful, securing Clemson’s 1-0 victory.
