About the Wienermobile

The Wienermobile, which is 27 feet long and has a classic ketchup-and-mustard color scheme, is one of only six in existence nationwide. Here are some fun facts:

  • The vehicle features six seats and a hot dog-shaped dashboard.
  • It also boasts a removable “bunroof.”
  • The current driver, Luigino Croce, known as “Pickle Pip,” has traveled to 22 states in the past nine months.
  • His copilot, “Deli Ellie,” is on her 26th state.

Selection and Training

Oscar Mayer’s Hotdoggers are selected from approximately 7,000 applicants and undergo a year-long training program that includes driving lessons from retired Madison police officers.
