The TechStars Startup Weekend is set to take place from March 21-23, 2025, at the Digital Corridor office located at 500 Carteret Street D in Beaufort. Sponsored by the Technical College of the Lowcountry, this event aims to teach aspiring entrepreneurs how to launch a startup in just three days.

Event Overview

  • Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years or older.
  • Objective: Launch a startup idea within a weekend.
  • Total Prize Value: Up to $10,000.

On the first night, participants will engage in ice-breaking activities followed by 60-second pitches to present their startup ideas. Importantly, teams will be formed based on votes for the favorite pitches, enhancing collaboration among attendees.

Weekend Activities

Throughout the weekend, various workshops will cover essential topics, including:

  • Business plan building
  • Customer validation
  • Marketing strategies
  • Pitching techniques

Participants will need to prepare a pitch deck to present to a panel of judges at the end of the event. To maintain an equal playing field, pitches based on existing business ideas may be disqualified by local organizers.

Requirements and Recommendations

Participants will begin the event without pre-existing teams, allowing for diverse backgrounds and experiences to join forces. They are encouraged to:

Ticketing Information

Tickets for the event are available in two categories:

  • Team Ticket: $25; includes all meals and workshops, exclusive to participants.
  • Watch The Show Ticket: $45; for non-participants, granting access to the Finale Night.

Discounts of $15 are available for students and military personnel. However, there are no refunds on ticket sales, as this event also serves as a fundraising effort.
