The line of storms stretched from near Bowman to about 7 miles north of Branchville and into Bamberg, moving northwest at a steady 10 mph. Such gusty winds can easily cause downed tree limbs and send unsecured objects flying, making it essential to secure anything outside you don’t want to lose.

Residents in Orangeburg, Bamberg, Denmark, Brookdale, and surrounding areas—including the Orangeburg County Airport, Claflin College, South Carolina State University, and many others—should be particularly vigilant. Interstate 26 will also see an impact, with warnings focused particularly between mile markers 144 and 164, making travel risky.
