Community members come together to enhance aviation safety during the Runway FOD Walk.
Beaufort will host its inaugural Runway FOD Walk on May 3, part of South Carolina Aviation Week, focusing on removing Foreign Object Debris from the runway. Community members are invited to participate in this important initiative aimed at enhancing aviation safety. The event will kick off at 9 a.m. at Beaufort Executive Airport, and free doughnuts and coffee will be served to volunteers afterward. No experience is necessary to join, making it a perfect opportunity for community engagement.
Beaufort will host its first-ever Runway FOD Walk event on May 3 as part of South Carolina Aviation Week, which runs from April 27 to May 3. The event aims to enhance aviation safety by removing Foreign Object Debris (FOD) from the runway area.

Volunteers will assist in cleaning the runway to maintain the operational integrity of the airfield. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate attire. As a token of appreciation, doughnuts and coffee will be provided after the walk.
