Tragic Collision Claims Life on Bluffton Parkway

Bluffton, SC – One person has been killed in a tragic collision on Bluffton Parkway that occurred on Sunday morning at around 10:45 a.m. The accident unfolded near the entrance to the Heritage Lakes neighborhood, roughly one mile east of the Bluffton town limits.

According to authorities, the incident began when two individuals were standing outside a 2014 Jeep Compass that had become disabled after the trailer it was towing came loose. A 2006 Toyota RAV4, traveling east on Bluffton Parkway, struck the disabled trailer. This impact caused the trailer to collide with both pedestrians who were outside the Jeep.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the collision. One of the pedestrians suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital along with the driver of the RAV4. However, the second pedestrian unfortunately succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
