Located on Meeting Street, this new development will feature 139 guest rooms, 36 branded residences, four restaurants and bars, and a full-service spa. With an aim to blend modern luxury with Charleston’s rich tradition, the hotel will also offer extensive event space and premium amenities, enhancing the city’s hospitality offerings to global visitors.

South Carolina will soon welcome its first Four Seasons hotel, as the luxury hospitality brand has announced plans to open the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Charleston in downtown Charleston. The hotel is set to start welcoming guests in 2028 and will offer an upscale experience, catering to both travelers and residents in the historic city.

Located on Meeting Street, the new hotel will occupy a 1.9-acre site where a Days Inn budget motel once stood. The development is a collaboration with Strategic Property Partners, a firm based in Tampa, Florida. As part of the architectural initiative, the hotel will consist of an eight-story building that includes 139 guest rooms along with 36 branded residences, which are designed to offer the comfort of home coupled with luxury amenities.

The residences will come in various sizes, ranging from 2,000 square feet with two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms up to larger units of 3,700 square feet featuring five bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. The starting price for these residences will be $5 million, and many will include outdoor balconies or terraces, enhancing the living experience. Residents will also benefit from in-residence dining, housekeeping services, concierge assistance, and their own private entrance.

To further enhance the guest experience, the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Charleston will feature four restaurants and bars, alongside an outdoor pool equipped with private cabanas. The establishment will also host 7,000 square feet of versatile event space suitable for gatherings, meetings, and celebrations. A full-service spa with private treatment rooms and hydro-thermal facilities will add to the hotel’s luxurious offerings, along with a fitness center and curated retail space on-site.

The project is significant not only for the Four Seasons brand but for Charleston’s hospitality landscape as well. This venture is part of Four Seasons’ strategic expansion into the luxury market throughout the Southeastern United States, with an aim to blend Charleston’s rich charm and cultural heritage with modern luxury hospitality.

Accessibility is a key factor, as the hotel will be ideally situated near popular attractions, including the Charleston Historical City Market and the Gibbes Museum of Art. Notably, the architectural design will be executed by Morris Adjmi Architects, while Lark Design Studios will handle the hotel interiors and Hollander Design will manage the landscaping for the development.

The announcement comes as Charleston continues to grow in popularity as a leisure destination, and the introduction of a luxury hotel of this caliber is expected to further elevate the city’s reputation within the hospitality industry. The construction phase of the project is anticipated to finish by 2028, marking a new chapter in Charleston’s ongoing evolution as an attractive destination for visitors from around the globe.

Four Seasons has built a reputation for providing exceptional service and luxury experiences, and this new establishment in South Carolina promises to uphold those standards, contributing to the region’s hospitality legacy as highlighted by the property developers.
