# Hilton Head Mayor Race Narrows to Three After Hoagland Withdraws

The Hilton Head Island mayoral race has narrowed to three candidates after Skip Hoagland withdrew this week.

Hoagland’s withdrawal came after a decision that he did not meet the town residency requirement for the office.

The remaining candidates are incumbent Mayor Alan Perry, Dave Ferguson and Palmer E. Simmons. The municipal general election is scheduled for Nov. 3.

The three candidates now enter the fall campaign competing to lead Hilton Head Island.
