# Hovland, Gerard Share Tour Championship Lead After Round 2

Viktor Hovland and Ryan Gerard concluded the second round of the 2026 Tour Championship on Friday, August 28, sharing the lead at 10 under par. Their performances set the stage for a competitive weekend at East Lake, with several top players close behind.

Gerard, 27, recorded his second consecutive 5-under 65, positioning himself for what could be the most significant win of his career. He previously won the 2025 Barracuda Championship and entered 2026 as a favored breakout star. Gerard demonstrated strong all-around play, gaining strokes in every category, including a 78-foot birdie putt early in his second round.

Hovland, the 2023 FedEx Cup champion, overcame a slow start with two bogeys in his first three holes. He rallied on his back nine, securing a share of the 36-hole lead with a birdie from a bunker on the final hole.
