Health and safety officials are reiterating warnings about the severe risks of heat exhaustion and heat stroke as sustained summer temperatures continue across the Lowcountry. The human body typically regulates its internal temperature through sweating, a natural cooling mechanism. Symptoms can include confusion, disorientation, slurred speech, seizures, and loss of consciousness.
